Anchor Accounting Services, LLC (“Anchor”, “we”, “us” or “our”) recognizes that privacy is important and is committed to maintaining the privacy of personal information. This Privacy Notice (“Notice”) describes the personal information that Anchor collects and the uses that Anchor will make of that personal information. It also describes your privacy rights. We will update this Notice from time to time as we undertake new personal data practices, adopt new privacy policies or to reflect changes to acceptable practices.

Anchor’s Processing of Data Collected by Its Clients

When Anchor provides services to clients, we sometimes handle personal information belonging to our clients. This means that Anchor processes the information solely on the instructions of our clients or strategic allies, who retain control of the information.

Therefore, if our use of your personal information is not covered by this Notice, you may need to contact the entity on whose behalf the processing of your information is carried out.

  • When you create an account on an Anchor website;
  • When you inquire about, or engage Anchor to provide its services;

  • Send you important information regarding our products, affiliated products, options to attach to our products, maintenance issues, the website or terms, conditions, and policies and/or other administrative information.
  • Complete and fulfill your request or inquiry, for example, to communicate with you regarding your questions about our services, to answer to your questions, and to provide you with related service and assistance, if any.

We may also combine that information with publicly available information and information we receive from or cross-reference with affiliates or third parties, including providers of third-party cookie and other third party browsing and use data. 

We use this combined information to enhance and personalize the experience of you and others with us, and to recognize our customers so that we can communicate with you directly about our properties, services, and events that may be of interest to you, and for other promotional purposes.

We may also disclose personal information that we collect or you provide as described in this Notice:

  • To a buyer or other successor in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of Anchor’s assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which personal information held by Anchor about our Website users or customers is among the assets transferred.
  • To fulfill the purpose for which you provide it.
  • For any other purpose disclosed by us when you provide the information.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction and subject to certain limitations, you have the following rights with respect to the personal information we process about you:

  • Request a copy of the personal information Anchor holds about you (including as necessary to support your right of data portability),
  • Request to know information about the categories of personal information we process about you,
  • Request that Anchor correct your data,
  • Request that your data be deleted, and
  • Withdraw consent for any processing where we have requested your consent.

You also have the right not to not be discriminated against (as provided for in applicable law) for exercising your rights.

We will consider all requests and respond during the applicable time period. Please note, however, that certain information may be exempt from such requests in some circumstances, which may include if we need to keep processing your information or to comply with a legal obligation. Depending on the sensitivity of the information sought, we also may take steps to verify your identity before responding to a request, which might include, at a minimum, verifying your name, email address, and date of birth. You are also permitted to designate an authorized agent to submit certain requests on your behalf. An authorized agent must have a signed, written permission from you or a power of attorney. We may also follow up with you to verify your identity before processing the authorized agent’s request.

Additionally, exercising your deletion rights may mean that you may no longer be able to use portions of Anchor’s service that require personal information to function (e.g., if you register for an account, you cannot delete your username and password if you want to maintain your account).

If you would like to exercise any of these rights, you may submit your request to clientservice@anchoraccounting.net. If we deny your request, you may appeal our decision by contacting us at clientservice@anchoraccounting.net (please put “APPEAL” in your subject line). If you have concerns about the results of an appeal, you may contact the attorney general in the state where you reside.

Shine the Light Disclosures. If you reside in California, you may request certain general information regarding our disclosure of personal information during the preceding year to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. Notice of Right to Opt Out of Sale of Personal Information

Residents of certain states have the right to opt out of the “sale” of their personal information. Certain state laws broadly define “sale” in a way that may include when we share your information with third parties to provide you with offers and promotions that we believe may be of interest to you. It also may include allowing third parties to receive certain information, such as cookies IP address and/or browsing behavior, to deliver targeted advertising on our site or on other services.

We may provide the following categories of information to third parties for these purposes:

  • For sharing with third parties to send you relevant business opportunities, ranging from possible venture partnerships to employment opportunities: contact and account registration information; demographic and statistical information, customer records information and user-generated content, and geolocation.

If you would like to opt out of our use of your information for such purposes that are considered a “sale” under California law, you may submit a sale opt-out request by emailing us at  clientservice@anchoraccounting.net.

Cross-Border Transfer

Your Personal Information might be stored and processed in any country where we have operations, property developments, or where we have engaged a service provider, including the United States, which may have different data protection rules than in your country.

Direct Marketing

We may use all information collected at this website for direct marketing and e-marketing purposes including the sharing of the information with our affiliates or third parties unless you specifically request that it not be used for that purpose.

We may share your information in the following circumstances and as permitted by applicable federal and state law:

  • For legal purposes: We may disclose your information if required by law, regulation, or legal process (e.g., in response to a subpoena, court order, or similar legal request).
  • With business partners: If we enter into a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

For analytics and research: We may share aggregated, anonymized data with third parties for research, analysis, and marketing purposes.

Retention Period

We continue to maintain your data and the ability to share your data as outlined herein even when you are no longer our customer.

If you would prefer not to receive marketing emails from us, please contact us. If you opt out of receiving marketing emails, we may still send you other types of messages which are reasonably necessary to facilitate or carry out our services, respond to your inquiries or otherwise engage with you as it relates to our ability to provide our services.

Information Security

We use commercially reasonable methods consistent with industry practice to protect your personal information from unauthorized access or disclosure. While we consider these policies and procedures to be adequate, there is still a risk that your personal information could be misappropriated. No method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage, is completely secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your Personal Information.
